I agree to the communication policyFoster Carer Agreement You agree that all the information you have provided is honest and correct. You understand that providing untruthful answers or failure to comply with the requirements of the foster carer agreement may result in the immediate termination of your services. You understand that the main caregiver(s) are those stated above as “primary” and “secondary” carers and that any other persons are not to care for the foster animal without prior written approval from a Project Underdog Rescue (‘PUR’) representative. You understand that as the main caregiver(s) of the foster animal you are considered to be the “person in charge” under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1986 and the Domestic Animals Act 1994 and you must abide by these legislations at all times. You agree not to leave your foster animal in anyone else's care or alone for longer than twelve hours unless you have prior written approval from a PUR representative. You understand that your services are provided strictly in a voluntary capacity as a volunteer and without any express or implied promise of salary, compensation or other payment of any kind. You understand that you may be required to safely transport your foster animal to and from appointments which may be for the purpose of veterinary treatment, training or behaviour sessions, meet and greets or any other purpose deemed reasonable. You agree to allow potential adopters to meet your foster animal, at a time and place mutually convenient. If a mutually convenient time and place cannot be agreed upon then you understand that a PUR representative will be required to take the foster animal to these appointments. You agree that the foster animal will be adequately and safely contained at the premises specified above, each night and that you will notify a PUR representative should you wish to house your foster animal at a different address. You understand that any contact made by a PUR representative must be returned within 24 hours. You agree to notify PUR in writing of any change in contact details or circumstances as soon as they are known to you. You understand that PUR aims to cover reasonable and agreed costs of foster caring including any necessary veterinary care so long as the foster animal is taken to an approved veterinary clinic and you have gained prior written approval from a PUR representative. You agree to notify PUR immediately of any medical or behavioural issues as soon as they arise (no matter how insignificant they may seem). You agree to only feed your foster animal the food and treats recommended or provided by a PUR representative. You understand you are personally responsible for any and all financial expenses that are incurred in relation to fostering unless otherwise agreed in writing. You understand that Project Underdog cannot be held responsible for any damage your foster animal may cause to you, your home, personal belongings, or other people, animals or items. You understand that the handling of animals and other volunteer activities may place you in a hazardous situation and could result in injury to yourself or your personal property. On behalf of yourself, and your heirs’ personal representatives and assigns, you hereby release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless PUR and its directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all claims, causes of action and demands of any nature, whether known or unknown, arising out of or in connection with your volunteer activities. You agree to return any equipment or supplies provided to you by PUR, if requested to do so within a reasonable time frame. If any PUR property is not returned then we may issue you with an invoice for the costs of the goods at a price determined by PUR. You understand that the foster animal is considered the property of PUR and you are required to return them to PUR if requested to do so, within 24 hours of receiving notification. You understand that your role is solely to provide a temporary home for the foster animal and that although your opinion regarding the match between the foster animal and potential adopters is important, the final decision is with PUR. You understand that in all your dealings with the public as a foster carer that those members of the public will consider your words and actions to be representative of the attitudes and positions of PUR. You are not authorised to speak for PUR nor can you enter into any agreements on behalf of PUR. You agree that during the term of your services and thereafter to take no action, which is intended, or would reasonably be expected, to harm PUR, it’s representatives or it’s reputation, or any action, which would reasonably be expected to lead to unwanted or unfavourable publicity. You agree not to disclose any confidential, sensitive or personal information relating to PUR and its representatives to any third party. We reserve the right to refuse any applicant without reason and may terminate your services as a foster carer at any time with or without cause. You understand that your foster dog must wear a collar with an identification tag attached at all times. If the collar or tag is lost or broken then a PUR representative must be contacted immediately so that a replacement can be arranged. You understand that your foster dog is not allowed off lead in public under any circumstances without prior written approval from a PUR representative. You understand that we make every effort to provide accurate information to you regarding the foster dog’s temperament, history and behaviour challenges noted but that we cannot be held responsible should the behaviours displayed once in foster care be different to that described to you prior. You understand that should you wish to no longer foster the dog that we will make every effort to find a suitable foster home for them to move into but that we do not have a shelter facility or foster carers on standby and will require you to continue to foster the dog until an alternative and suitable foster home is found.
