Dog Foster Application Thank you for your interest in becoming a foster carer for Project Underdog Rescue. We can't wait to welcome you to our team. Suitability: To help us assess your suitability and match you with an appropriate foster animal, please complete this application truthfully and with as much detail as possible. Matching: All the animals we take on have been health checked and temperament tested, so we can carefully match them to you. The last thing we want is to cause you and/or your existing pets any unnecessary stress. Property Check: As part of the foster application process, someone from our team will come out and conduct a standard property check to ensure the property is safe and secure. This will also give us a chance to sit down and discuss the fostering process in more detail with you. Support: We are available around the clock to assist and support you during the foster process and have experienced behaviourists and veterinary professionals on hand. Patience: A majority of our animals have come from unstable backgrounds and will take time to decompress and get comfortable with their new surroundings. Our foster carers must be understanding and patient during this process. We understand it can be challenging but we will be here to support you. Time: Our aim is for them to stay with the one foster carer until they are adopted. This could be anywhere from a couple of months to over a year! So please specify if you have any time constraints with fostering. Adoption Ready: Once the animal has been in our care for at least two weeks and deemed ready for adoption, we will start promoting them for adoption and work on finding them the perfect forever home. You will of course be apart of this process. Foster Fail: If you become attached to your foster animal and are interested in adopting them then you will be given the opportunity to apply to adopt them should they be deemed a perfect match. Our promise: We will provide all foster supplies and cover all vet expenses as long as you liaise with us first and use our preferred clinics (unless of course it's an emergency). All animals will be desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested (dogs) and flea, tick & worm treated prior to adoption. Your Promise: You are responsible for providing a loving home that is loving, secure and safe for their foster animal at all times. You will never use aversive training equipment or techniques on a Project Underdog Rescue animal. Thanks again for your interest in fostering, and we hope to welcome you to our team!
